The New York City Peak Oil Meetup Group is dedicated to informing educating and activating those interested in the topic of Oil Depletion The world is faced with three concurrent and overlapping ecological disasters- Population pressure, resource depletion and habitat destruction - that threaten the continued existence of the human species. There are two ways to deal with these problems: the path of death, which includes war, strife and disease, and the path of life, which acknowledges the problems and the need for intelligent, cooperative action to maximize survival. We choose the path of life. Each month, the New York City Peak Oil Group has 5 meetings: 1. General Meeting Our meetings are designed to accomdate the varying interests of our members. The average meeting lasts about 2 1/2 hours, but "after-hour" conversations often make for late evenings and lively debates. The main location for most meetings is at the Wai Cafe, with at least one monthly meeting at the Subud Center.
